Indian Women Influencing Travel

We prepared a questionnaire for our inspiring women in travel. Here are the inspiring thoughts that they put beautifully:

#1 Mona Molayem

1. Your best experiences /stories while traveling

There are so many! Glamping in the Sahara Desert in Morocco, a safari in South Africa, scuba diving the Red Sea...I love experiences that put me in touch with the natural surroundings.

2. What is your favorite destination and why?

It's so hard to choose just one, but I love tropical island destinations. I think there is nowhere more beautiful than Bora Bora or the Maldives.

3. How you have utilized your time during lockdown?

I've been committed to finding safe ways to continue to travel during this new pandemic era. Whether it's the best staycations or road trips, best practices for keeping safe at hotels or on planes, or taking advantage of the best travel deals. I aim to keep others inspired and traveling!

4. How travel will change post-pandemic and what advice you would like to give to fellow travelers?

I believe in some ways travel will change for the better. Having new, stricter, and safer health protocols at hotels and on airplanes will be beneficial to travelers even when we aren't amidst a pandemic. For those who wish to continue traveling, my best advice is to make smart choices and continue following the guidelines and recommendations. Wear a mask, practice social distancing, and wash your hands often.

5. Who/what is your source of inspiration?

I am most inspired by the places I visit. Having the opportunity to experience a new culture or simply being in a new environment is the best way to reinvigorate the mind.

#2  Niharika The Iffy Explorer

1. Your best experiences /stories while traveling

I have spent the best days of my life in Ladakh and Nagaland. My solo backpacking trip to Ladakh, covering Kargil and Leh was one of the best journies I undertook. The moon-like landscape of Leh, the beauty of the Srinagar-Leh Highway, the lush-green Suru valley, and my interaction with the Aryans of Ladakh and other people across many villages; the memories are still fresh even after so many months.

Nagaland was an absolute raw adventure across the Northeast of India. I was fortunate to undertake the Dzukou Valley trek and explore untouched villages around Kohima.

2. What is your favorite destination and why?

Ladakh and Kashmir have my heart for a lifetime. Kashmiri people and the state's autumn have no comparison whereas Ladakh's mountains' grandness inspires me to travel deeper even more.

3. How you have utilized your time during lockdown?

I had a huge pile of videos to make from my previous trips. So the lockdown gave me an opportunity to grow my YouTube channel and write more content for my blog.

4. How travel will change post-pandemic and what advice you would like to give to fellow travelers?

Post the pandemic, travel will take a different form. More people will be on the outlook for relaxed and wellness getaways, and personalized family trips will be on the rise. Every traveler must follow safety procedures and should maintain cleanliness and hygiene while venturing out.

5. Who/what is your source of inspiration?

Movies, Documentaries, and YouTube videos have always inspired me to travel far, deep, and better. The visual content has always been the biggest source for me to keep that curiosity burning,

#3 Anoushka

1. Your best experiences /stories while traveling

I have so many! One of my most memorable trips involved getting caught in the floods in Venice on my birthday - funnily it ended up being my favorite birthday! Most recently, I spent a night in a drag bar in Thailand and watched the most talented Queens perform till the early hours.

2. What is your favorite destination and why?

Italy, because it has everything: great food, nature, beaches, perfect weather, and plenty of history and culture.

3. How you have utilized your time during a lockdown?

I've used lockdown to brush up on my Spanish - I really want to be fluent in a second language. I've also taken a lot of time for myself, to slow down, relax, and enjoy doing nothing for once.

4. How travel will change post-pandemic and what advice you would like to give to fellow travelers?

Hopefully, people will start traveling more thoughtfully, rather than on constant trips for the sake of it.

5. Who/what is your source of inspiration?

I don't have any one source of inspiration, as it varies so much. Most of my travels are inspired by Instagram and Pinterest!

#4 Travelocorn  ZOHA

1. Your best experiences /stories while traveling

Well, if we talk about stories there are tons of them. It is really difficult to say which one is my favourite but Dzokou Valley is really special to me. Not just because of the beauty that it is but also because of the incredible memories that I have. Sat there with my newly made friends all night playing random games and watching a shooting star for the first time in my life.

2. What is your favorite destination and why?

It has to be Nagaland. The place has a vibe of its own that cannot be described in words. Also, the people are so so warm that I felt like settling there forever.

3. How you have utilized your time during a lockdown?

Initially, I took a break and watched a lot of Dramas that I wanted to. After this, I learned the Korean language and studied more about my field of work like videography, photography, and editing. I kept doing my freelance content writing work so that kept me busy as well.

4. How travel will change post-pandemic and what advice you would like to give to fellow travelers?

This pandemic has affected the travel industry on a huge level and I think even after it heals people will be a bit hesitant to travel to crowded places or public transport

5. Who/what is your source of inspiration?
